Friends of Jesmond Library

The Friends of Jesmond Library operate the former city council library as a community hub, offering a free library and information service, and an extensive programme of events. It has two community meeting rooms to hire. The Friends is run entirely by volunteers.

FODI – Friends of the drop in for asylum seekers and refugees is a charity established in 2011 whose mission is to improve the mental health and well-being of asylum seekers and refugees in Sunderland by running a drop in and a range of other projects in order to lessen social isolation and promote integration into the wider community.

FutureSkills North East is a not-for-profit social enterprise, established in 2015, based in Gateshead with the aim of providing a range of accredited training programmes for paid staff and volunteers in the voluntary and community sector across the North East.

Gap Supported Housing

StopGap Supported Housing provides accommodation and support to homeless and vulnerable adults in West Northumberland. Based in Hexham we have a staffed accommodation project where up to seven homeless adults are supported to address those issues that may have led to their homelessness and to access training, education,volunteer opportunities and other activities to improve employability. Help is available to apply for housing and to successfully set-up and maintain the tenancy.
