Northumbria Students' Union
Northumbria Students’ Union is independent from the University however it works closely with it to deliver a first-rate service to students. Northumbria Students’ Union is integral to the provision of the modern, top class service provided to the student membership. When a student joins Northumbria University, they automatically become a member of the Union. Members are entitled to use the services provided including access to free and paid activities, advice and representation, societies and to use the facilities in the building including the bars, eating facilities and room bookings.

Northumbrian Industrial Mission Ltd
Northumbrian Industrial Mission Ltd (NIM), is an ecumenical charity founded in 1971 by the church leaders, to bring together under common management the mission of sponsoring churches and other sponsoring bodies, to industry, commerce and the workplace. NIM provides workplace chaplains, mainly voluntary, to workplaces in the region. Many of them are lay people who give generously of their time to be there for others. They support people of all walks of life who are struggling with the demands of the workplace or personal issues such as bereavement, caring roles or financial pressures. NIM offers an independent and confidential anchor in times of crisis, additional to other modes of support for staff.

Driven by charitable endeavour our rationale is to reduce the corrosive effects of inequality and disadvantage inherent in a community that persistently remains ranked in the top 2% of the worst English Districts as described by the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) of 2010, 2015 & 2019.
We aim to diversify and strengthen our operational capacity and establish a sustained and effective presence. This underpinned by ensuring equity in resource allocation. We Develop frameworks enabling residents to have agency over priorities and activities and provide a range and mix of resident led project services, together with events and activities to improve community engagement, esprit de corp and the general health & wellbeing of residents.

At 'Not A Statistic Northeast CIC', we understand how difficult it is for people going through life's ups and downs to find a space where they can build connections with others who understand what they’re experiencing.
'Not A Statistic Northeast CIC' was created to help individuals find a safe space to access peer to peer support with a free tea or coffee, biscuits and some laughs along the way.

We run a community garden in West Gateshead, the Hop Garden. We run walks, workshops, courses and events to support connection with the natural world. We support people to grow their own organic food and teach about using plant medicine.

The objects of the Company are to carry on activities which benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) Nurtured in Nature (NIN) aims to provide a therapeutic, non-judgmental environment using a relational model with using the natural environment, to help Individual, groups and families to make positive changes and work towards employability and good physical and mental health and contribute to the environment.
NIN Provides Care farming for a wide range of clients, Outdoor play therapy, Family Play Therapy, Individual play Therapy, Filial Therapy, outdoor Life Story therapy, Horticulture and permaculture, outdoor education, social education, Nature Therapy as well as training therapists internationally in Filial Therapy and Animal Assisted Play Therapy in a peaceful therapeutic space on a 22 acre farm in rural North Northumberland. The directors have a proven history of success and partnership collaboration for the range of problems identified

We are Nuvo Wellbeing an multi award winning community interest company established in 2008. We work with adults and children in areas of deprivation to deliver affordable and fun dance, fitness and healthy eating classes and resources – providing innovative and friendly programmes delivering long term benefits for individuals and communities.
Oakerside Park Community Association
A locally based non profit Community Centre aimed at providing a low cost place for community based charitable groups, children's activity groups and elderly groups to meet on a regular basis. We also hire our facilities to non profit groups. Additional but limited places are made available to community based profit groups that benefit the community, along with weekend higher for residents of Peterlee for parties and one off events. Finally, we provide voting facilities for Durham County Council Electorial Office.
