Serving predominantly older people we are often seen as a lifeline for many and help to combat periods of isolation for many.

Vision25 is based in Stockton-on-Tees, one the most 10% deprived areas in England, the group is a great place to be, we are young adults and our average age is about 23 years old. We all have learning disabilities and some of us have a profound and multiple learning disabilities e.g. Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and other Chromosome Abnormalities. When we finished college at 19, there was no-where to go, we were quite isolated at home. One of our teachers Jen Addison had a brilliant idea to open a centre where we could get together, make friends, learn independent living skills and be part of the community. We started as a Saturday club and 2 years later we are open 6 days a week.
One of our aims at Vision25 is to support the group in work related learning skills. We do this by focusing on the following areas:

Wag & Company North East Friendship Dogs was established in August 2015 - and launched on 4 May 2016 - to bring friendship and the company of a dog to older dog lovers in our region. The Charity recruits, assesses, inducts and deploys volunteer befrienders and their dogs to regularly visit older people. We visit people in care and medical establishments as well as in their own homes on referral from agencies such as Age UK and Adult Social Services etc. We are the only provider of this service in people’s own homes.

Walking with the Wounded

Walking With The Wounded ‘WWTW’ deliver employment, mental health, care coordination and volunteering
programmes in collaboration with the NHS to get those who served, and their families, whether mentally, socially
or physically wounded, back on their feet and making a positive contribution once more. Why? Because those
who served, deserve.
