Young Carer Support Worker
£28,500 per annum (pro rata) actual £17,332
Up to 22.5 hours per week
Based at: Central Office, 107 & 109 Station Road, Ashington, NE63 8RS
Fixed Term: 12 months (initially)
If you can build trusted relationships with young carers, providing a safe space to talk and help them understand and manage the impact of their caring role we would love to hear from you. The key elements of the role include providing 1-to-1 support and group activities in schools, building positive relationships with young carers, supporting their wellbeing and resilience and working closely with school staff, families and other professionals.
The work we do is incredibly varied, and our staff team come from a range of different backgrounds. We are looking for someone who is empathetic, patient, non-judgemental, resilient and outcome focused. Experience of working with children and young people is essential. You will be required to travel to meetings and events throughout Northumberland and due to the nature of the county access to your own transport is needed.
