Role description: Project Support

Skills for People are a well-established charity serving disabled people and their families across NE England and north Cumbria. We are based in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our successful Positive Behaviour Support Team as a Project Worker, delivering workshops across Tyne and Wear, Teesside and North Cumbria, to family carers of children and young people who are autistic and/or have a learning disability. Our work aims to empower family carers to understand and support their children and young people.

We are looking for someone who believes passionately that every young person and their family should have a good quality of life and who has lived experience of supporting a family member with behaviours which could be considered challenging.

We recognise that family carers may need flexibility in their work and as an employer we are committed to supporting flexible working. If this role interests you, but you are unsure if it’s compatible with your caring responsibilities then please get in touch to discuss this further.  This role will include extensive travelling across the North East and Cumbria.
