Role description: Project Support

Children North East is a large North East based children’s charity that works across the region, with some work extending across England, Wales and Scotland. We exist because growing up can be hard. We want all babies, children and young people to be happy and healthy, and to grow up feeling safe and loved, resilient to the challenges they may face, and valued and confident.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Communities Team as a Schools Family Coordinator, supporting children, young people and families to feel heard, understood and better connected to the help they need. Working in schools, family homes and the wider community, you will build trusted relationships with identified families and provide practical, compassionate, family-focused support where it can make the greatest difference.

We are looking for someone with experience of working alongside children, young people and families in school or community settings. You will bring a strong understanding of child development, domestic abuse, mental health and well-being and the wider pressures families may experience, together with the confidence and sensitivity to respond in a supportive and strengths-based way.

The working week is 28 hours per week for this post which is part-time against full-time hours of 37 hours per week. Term Time Only will also be considered.
