Join our team as a Domestic Abuse Practitioner
Northumberland Domestic Abuse Services provides support to all survivors who have been the subject of domestic abuse, supports them through the criminal justice system and offers relevant advice and assistance, both practical and emotional. NDAS empowers survivors to make decisions, increase their options, their confidence and safety. Prevention and awareness raising activities are also delivered across Northumberland and counselling to the children of our service users.
We are recruiting for a full-time (37.5 hours/week) Domestic Abuse Practitioner to join our team working across the county of Northumberland.
Permanent contract.
Salary: £26,000- £30,000 per annum
Ideally, we are looking for:
A background in working with adult survivors and children and young people. Level 4 NVQ or CAADA IDVA training is desirable with a willingness to undertake specialist training.
As a Domestic Abuse Practitioner, you will:
Provide practical and emotional support to victims of domestic abuse/violence in Northumberland. You will support a case load of clients, working with them to develop and deliver Individual Safety and Support Plan based on a rigorous risk assessment to address and reduce the risk of harm to clients.
You will work in partnership with other agencies to coordinate joined up responses and to advocate for survivors to ensure their needs are met.
Networking across communities is crucial to promote our services and how to access them.
Importantly, you will empower and enable clients to make decisions, increase their options, build their confidence to build lives free from abuse.
