Salary: £13.08 per hour (£25,166 FTE, pro rata)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Therapeutic Activity Worker to join our team at LD:NorthEast.

In this role, you will plan and deliver engaging sessions such as digital activities and walking groups, supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism to improve their wellbeing, build confidence, and connect with their community.

You will work in small groups, using a person-centred approach to ensure everyone feels included, valued, and able to make meaningful choices about their involvement.

What you’ll be doing

  • Planning and delivering digital sessions, walking groups, and other social and wellbeing-focused opportunities
  • Supporting individuals to develop skills, confidence, and independence
  • Working alongside colleagues to deliver high-quality, safe, and inclusive sessions
  • Occasionally providing cover for arts and crafts sessions where required
  • Involving people in planning sessions, ensuring their voices are heard
  • Maintaining accurate records and following organisational procedures
  • Building positive relationships with participants, families, and colleagues

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in community work and/or delivering activity sessions
  • Is confident supporting people with learning disabilities and autism
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Takes a person-centred, inclusive approach
  • Can work both independently and as part of a team
  • Is reliable, approachable, and non-judgemental
  • Is committed to promoting dignity, respect, and choice

Additional information

This role is subject to a DBS check.
You will be expected to participate in training, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
