About the role
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Therapeutic Activity Worker to join our team at LD:NorthEast.
In this role, you will plan and deliver engaging sessions such as digital activities and walking groups, supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism to improve their wellbeing, build confidence, and connect with their community.
You will work in small groups, using a person-centred approach to ensure everyone feels included, valued, and able to make meaningful choices about their involvement.
What you’ll be doing
- Planning and delivering digital sessions, walking groups, and other social and wellbeing-focused opportunities
- Supporting individuals to develop skills, confidence, and independence
- Working alongside colleagues to deliver high-quality, safe, and inclusive sessions
- Occasionally providing cover for arts and crafts sessions where required
- Involving people in planning sessions, ensuring their voices are heard
- Maintaining accurate records and following organisational procedures
- Building positive relationships with participants, families, and colleagues
About you
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in community work and/or delivering activity sessions
- Is confident supporting people with learning disabilities and autism
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Takes a person-centred, inclusive approach
- Can work both independently and as part of a team
- Is reliable, approachable, and non-judgemental
- Is committed to promoting dignity, respect, and choice

This role is subject to a DBS check.
