The role
The Female Project Support Worker will play a vital role in supporting women who have experienced homelessness, social exclusion, domestic abuse, trauma, addiction, and other complex challenges to rebuild their lives and move towards greater independence.
Working within Emmaus North East’s women-only accommodation service, the postholder will provide structured, person-centred support that empowers female companions to develop confidence, improve wellbeing, access training and employment opportunities, and successfully move on to independent living.
This role will combine practical support, advocacy, safeguarding, partnership working, and community engagement within a trauma-informed environment.

Hours: 37.5 Hours Per Week | Salary: £30,000 (FTE £30,000 | Period: Fixed Term Contact - 3 Years | Closing Date: 18/06/2026, 12pm
Please Note: Due to the nature of this role and the needs of the women we support, this position is open to female applicants only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 (Genuine Occupational Requirement).
Sifting will take place on an ongoing basis, if successful at sifting stage we may invite you to an initial virtual call/telephone call, and if successful a face to face interview may follow.
