New Prospects, based in Whitely Bay, is looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic female Support Workers, with basic British Sign Language (BSL) skills, to support a young deaf woman with learning disabilities to live the life she chooses. We are delighted to be working with Jobs with Purpose to find the right candidates for this important role.
You'll become a crucial part of someone's everyday life, supporting her to communicate, stay connected with family and friends, enjoy her interests and remain an active member of the deaf community.
Every day is different and interesting. You could be visiting a local café, attending deaf community events or watching football. You'll be helping with everyday tasks at home, supporting independence, maximising choice and control.
You’ll be supporting someone to live life their way.

You'll support with:
Everyday living skills
Meal preparation
Light household tasks
Medication support
Low level personal care
Shopping and appointments
Social activities and community access
Maintaining links with the deaf community
Supporting independence and choice
We're looking for someone who:
Has basic British Sign Language (BSL) skills
Is passionate about supporting people to live independently
Is reliable, flexible and enjoys working as part of a team
Wants to build a career in social care
Enjoys getting out into the community and meeting people
Various hours are available, including full-time, with options around how these hours are delivered. We can talk to you about how this might look.
