National Inclusion Week is a week-long event every year dedicated to celebrating diversity and inclusion in the workplace and taking action to make your workplace more inclusive. This year, National Inclusion Week is taking place from 26th September to 2nd October.
This year’s theme is ‘Time to Act: the Power of Now’. National Inclusion Week is a great time to put the focus on inclusion within your organisation, raise awareness of issues and emphasise that this is the time to act.
VONNE is proud to be an inclusive employer- but we can all do more to increase diversity and accessibility in our workforce, and make jobs open to all. We have recently made some amendments to our Job Finder service, to help employers advertise their roles more flexibly and to appeal to a broader range of candidates.
We have signed up to Children England's pledge Open to All- and do not ask for degrees for any roles at VONNE, unless it's essential to the position. The voluntary sector should be open to all people, regardless of background, to make it even stronger and more inclusive. You can find out more and sign up to the pledge at Open to All.
We are also proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer. Disability Confident works with employers to ensure disabled people and those with long term health conditions have opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.
National Inclusion Week was founded in 2012 by Inclusive Employers. Millions of people connect with the event, and it’s going from strength to strength, now celebrating it’s 10th year.
