In April 2022, as part of a new organisational structure, VONNE’s Member Services team was created. In this blog we’ll explain why and introduce the team.
What are member services?
VONNE’s member services include membership and Membership+, Job Finder, Enhanced Recruitment Services and, more recently, Workspace Finder. They’re services we provide to support the North East VCSE sector and, out of all our services, they’re probably the ones you interact with most often.
Why member services?
Members are at the heart of our work. As the regional infrastructure organisation for the North East VCSE sector, our role is to support and strengthen the sector, and act as a voice on regional and national bodies. We also run and participate in a number of networks that influence policy-makers within and beyond the sector. We do that most effectively by working with and for our members.
Where we generate income from member services, we reinvest it back into our core funding, helping us do more for you.
What’s changed and why?
Previously member services were covered by a few teams. While they were popular and well used, we knew we could do more. The Member Services team was created to bring a new focus to this area, and to improve and develop what we offer.
In the coming months, we’ll be working to reconnect with our membership. We’ll share a member survey to hear your thoughts on key issues, and take opportunities to connect with members in other ways.
We’ll review what we offer and how we talk to you about it, to make sure services are easy to use and meet your needs. You’ll also see more member voices across our communications channels.
Next year, we’ll be redeveloping our website. Improving how it works for members will be a key focus.

Meet the team
Laura looks after the team. She’s been working on member services since she joined VONNE in December 2019 and now leads our work in this area as our Member Services Manager.
Amy is VONNE’s Communications Officer and is responsible for all things communications. That includes our website, social feeds and VONNE News ebulletin. Amy’s passionate about bringing member voices into our work.
Gemma joined VONNE in April 2022 as our Membership and Communications Administrator. She’s a customer service whizz and our first point of contact for all things membership and jobs. If you’ve had a query with either, you’ve probably been in touch with Gemma.
