Recently we surveyed users of Job Finder. We wanted to find out where job-seekers are looking for vacancies, how they use Job Finder, what they like about it and what they don’t. Ultimately we want to encourage the best candidates into the North East VCSE sector and to help those job-seekers see what’s available in the sector and find their ideal role.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to complete the survey - it was fantastic to see your feedback. Some key findings are shared below. Over the coming months we’ll use these and other comments you shared to help improve Job Finder.
How do job-seekers rate Job Finder?
Of those who responded, 64% have applied for a role through VONNE Job Finder, so candidates are actively using Job Finder as a key place to look and apply for roles in the North East VCSE sector.
The majority of respondents were also very likely to recommend Job Finder to friends or colleagues, further broadening the reach of adverts. This was borne out in comments that subscribers are sharing Job Finder resources with friends and volunteers who are looking for paid roles.
Where are people looking for vacancies?
Job advertising websites were the most popular place to look for jobs, followed by organisation’s own job pages and jobs ebulletins. LinkedIn was the most popular social platform for job-seekers.
What content do people want?
Suggestions were made for additional content in Job Finder. These included sharing job-related events and training opportunities as well as Case studies to help job-seekers understand the opportunities within the sector. Some respondents also asked for tips to help employers boost the appeal of roles to prospective job-seekers. We’ll work on developing new content over the coming months.
