As part of the Prime Minister Office and Cabinet Office communications team, the Government Communications Service (GCS) works closely with both Number 10 and departmental colleagues to turn national campaigns into local ones across the whole of the north region.
GCS is based in Leeds and produces local campaign plans, recruit local partners and stakeholders, and creates and publishes local content to help bring these campaigns to life.
GCS provides local insight for priority Government campaigns, and regional briefings for the Prime Minister, No10 and Cabinet Office teams. Being located regionally provides a unique and essential viewpoint to feed back into the centre, and help inform local activity. They also provide support for all the PM and Chancellor regional visits using their knowledge of local issues and partner links.
The GCS team is also responsible for creating a network of GCS members and communicators across Government, ALBs, Local Authorities and other public services.
