The Nepacs Big Give Christmas Challenge appeal is now live!
From 28th November to 5th December 2023, Nepacs is taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge to raise funds towards their special family visits, play and youth areas across all north east prisons.
Please get involved and support the campaign by making an online donation during the appeal.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge means that every donation received during this time will be doubled. If you can help Nepacs to reach their target, your gift will be worth twice as much.
Nepacs Christmas Challenge appeal
It can be tough for children with a parent in prison. Nepacs volunteers support children & families visiting prisons in the northeast, provide support for children and plan special family play days. Fun, food and craft activities provide positive family memories throughout the year and at Christmas.
"Family visits promote positive, secure attachments between the child and the parent in prison. It offers reassurance that their parent is OK and still loves them, this is key to the child being able to cope with their experience."
Every pound raised during the Big Give Christmas Challenge appeal will be used specifically to support children and families with a loved one in prison in the north east by enabling Nepacs to deliver a range of special play day visits - including parent/child, extended play days, family learning visits etc.
The Big Give is an online campaign and donations need to be paid via their platform between noon on 28th November and noon on 5th December. All donations must be received online during this time and Nepacs hopes to bring in donations of £3,400 which means that when 'matched' or 'doubled' we can raise £6,800.
This is a massive amount and would make a huge difference to the facilities Nepacs can provide for children and young people during visits, and the fun activities provided during special family visits.
