HostNation is a volunteer-led charity finding local friends for socially isolated asylum seekers and refugees in London, Greater Manchester and Tyne & Wear. In Tyne & Wear we operate mostly across Newcastle and Gateshead, while also making matches in Wallsend, South Shields, North Shields and Whitley Bay.
We are looking for someone to be the face of HostNation in the North East. The role involves managing our digital platform in the region, connecting with the local refugee sector, recruiting volunteer befrienders and making approx 3 careful and considered friendship matches between refugees and residents a month. The role is part time – and will be approx. 12 hrs a week (1.5 days), flexible working (hours can be spread across the week) from home/remotely. This can be on a freelance basis or on a part-time staff contract with holiday, sick pay and pension contributions. We pay £20 per hour and the full -time equivalent salary is £39,000.
