Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of young carers?

Are you committed to empowering children and young people to fulfil their potential?

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with young carers to empower and enable them to fulfil their potential and achieve positive outcomes. Newcastle Carers supports young people aged 5 – 25 who help care for someone. As a Young Carers Worker, this role will have an emphasis on working with young carers aged between 5 – 15 years, and their families, to carry out a needs assessment which will identify support needs and inform an action plan. The role involves holding a caseload of young people who you will be working with using an outcome-focused approach. You will encourage young people to have their voice heard in different and creative ways.

This is a brilliant opportunity to use your skills in a rewarding role which will make a positive difference.

About you

You will be a self-motivated person who has experience working with children and young people who will have needs ranging from low-level to complex. You will be able to build trusting relationships to ensure that both young people and their families receive integrated and multi-agency support.
