£19,500 per annum pro rata plus £650 for anti-social hours (+ £55.00 for sleep-in shifts)
An average of 23 hours per week worked over a 3 week rota, including ‘sleep-In’ shifts, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. ‘Sleep-In’ shifts are paid at a rate of £55 per night. Your hours of work will vary weekly. In addition, there is also an opportunity to work extra hours if desired, on an as needed basis.
About the Role: This post is located within the project premises of Elizabeth House which provides 24-hour supported accommodation for 9 women aged 16 upwards, who are either pregnant, and/or have preschool children or are in the process of rehabilitation back with their children.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an individual who is passionate about working with our client group as part of a small, busy team; Elizabeth House works in a multi-disciplinary way alongside statutory services to provide a holistic support package to women whilst keeping the central focus on the child. The work is relationship based providing support which includes housing, life and general guidance through ordinary day to day situation’s, supporting a family from chaos to independence. The support provides a foundation upon which other professionals work to assess these skills further. The aim of the project is to equip and prepare the family to move into and maintain their next tenancy.
The prospective candidate would assist with all aspects of running and maintaining the project, motivating and empowering women towards independent living.
We are seeking a candidate who is practical, organised, with good boundaries. The candidate will be able to react calmly in a crisis, and have some life experience of working with chaotic people in a paid or unpaid capacity. An understanding of safeguarding, mental ill health, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol misuse are desirable. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. A willingness to learn and the ability to build cooperative working relationships. Qualified to NVQ Level 2 in a relevant field is desirable.
