Job Title:                                Projects Administrator


Responsible to:                     Head of Community Development & Engagement (Line Manager)/ Head of Social Prescribi

 Salary:                                    £22,750 per annum - pro rata until 31/03/2023

Hours:                                    37 hours per week, predominantly Monday – Friday, however you may be asked to support  community events outside of these hours

Term                                       Fixed Term until 31/03/2023 with the posibilty of extension

Benefits:                                 25 days holiday per year, plus statutory holidays – pro rata until 31/03/2023

Edberts House is a vibrant growing community organisation based in East Gateshead. We are currently managing four projects - Edberts House, Pattinson House, Larkspur House (part of our new inter-agency project in Beacon Lough East), and our nationally recognised Social Prescribing Project working alongside NHS Primary Care. Our vision is to make the communities within which we are based happier, healthier, friendlier places to live. The charity builds the capacity of local people across Gateshead through the provision of courses, person centred support, community events and activities.


Job Purpose: We are looking for a friendly individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills who can work alongside 2 busy, but fun teams. You will need to be willing to actively participate in meetings, listen to suggestions, and provide creative solutions to improve efficiency, reducing admin pressures for the teams working with our communities and patients.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To provide full secretarial and administrative support to the Head of Community Development & Engagement and the Head of Social Prescribing, including production of correspondence and reports, proof reading and formatting documents, diary management, coordinating meetings and production of agendas.
  • Compile data for monitoring, reporting and case studies.
  • Coordinate with the wider Community development & Social Prescribing staff teams on behalf of the Heads of service.
  • //Digital promotion and monitoring i.e., Facebook, Twitter etc.
  • To act as minute taker for meetings with the Heads of Service.
  • Provide support for events such as the annual Staff Conference, team away days, training sessions and Christmas Party.
  • Organise travel schedules, tickets and accommodation as and when required for the Heads of Service and associated staff.
  • Be able to represent the organisational ethos to supporters and stakeholders as required through day-to-day work.



Personal Specification/Key Competencies:



  • 2 years previous experience as a Personal Assistant or administrator (Desirable)
  • Website maintenance (Desirable)
  • Handling multiple tasks, pressures and requests (Essential)


Essential Skills, Knowledge & Aptitude:

  • Literacy and written communication skills to a level required to effectively communicate with a spectrum of stakeholders
  • Work in a professional and confidential manner in accordance with GDPR
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Pay attention to detail and have a methodical approach
  • Proficient at all Microsoft Office packages
  • Strong time management and organisational skills and able to manage and prioritise own workload using initiative
  • Able to create, implement and instruct on new systems, paperwork and proformas
  • Have a good working knowledge of various social media platforms
  • Coordinate quality assurance systems and checks
  • Able to reconcile financial information and handle cash
  • Good information management skills
  • Be self-aware, emotionally intelligent and resilient
  • Able to demonstrate a caring and supportive attitude to other staff and members of the community


It is a vital part of the role that the applicant will need a Full UK Driver’s License and access to their own vehicle as the role is split across a wide geographical area.
