Development Worker with passion for music who can to share his/her passion and skills with young people aged 7 to 18 years and young and not so young adults 18 to 90+ years.
The post looks to encourage a ‘music for all’ approach to finding and using voice, learning and playing a musical instrument or two, and using a range of new musicality skills to explore the world and places within that world.
We need someone who can provide daytime and evening sessions to include a regular Saturday opportunity and regular play and youth work evening sessions.
We envisage 'we all have a voice to be heard' workshops exploring role play, improvisation, imitating, learning and enjoying a range of genres from Lion King to Carmen, to investigate emotion, expressions and understandings - from confusion and desolation to hysteria and celebration - we will investigate musical horizons and gain performance and team work skills whilst making sense of the world through understanding sounds and their potential and creation.
From harmony to musical dialogue individual and collective skills acquisition enabling self esteem, confidence and new competences, the project work will involve learning and music - tonic sol fa to blues and jazz though a journey around learning techniques, development of and maximising aptitudes and potential to achieve individual and collective musical, personal and social benefits that are liberating, therapeutic and emotionally sustaining.
Accredited learning, individual and ensemble skills – the project will use musicality to do all of the above and create a ‘Sing a Rainbow’ portfolio of sound to tell individual and collective stories about life during and across the COVID pandemic period.
