Tyneside and Northumberland Mind have the following position available to work within a new service funded through the local CCG.

The CYP Suicide Bereavement Support Service for Gateshead and Newcastle.

This CYP service is new to Tyneside and Northumberland Mind.  The service will support any young person up to the age of 16 years living in Gateshead / Newcastle who have been affected by a suicide, murder or sudden tragic accident of a family member or close friend.

As a service we will provide support in the days after the incident, then after 3 months can provide bereavement counselling.

Scope of the Job

Knowledge and experience of safeguarding, professional boundaries and risk

To be qualified to at least degree level in counselling skills with children and young people

To have a certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision or working towards it.  The post holder will provide clinical supervision (individual and group).

The post holder will work in both Gateshead and Newcastle.
