Launch of the IPPR Commission on Health and Prosperity

Thursday, 28 April, 2022 - 13:00 to 14:30

Join the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) for the launch of its new Commission on Health and Prosperity.

IPPR believes that the UK has seen health for too long as a cost to be contained, rather than the keystone of a fair society. After Covid-19, it argues that we need to reconsider our approach and speak up against the status quo of poor health, rife inequalities and an economic model that fails to ‘price in’ health as an asset.

IPPR’s new Commission on Health and Prosperity aims to design a new approach to health. It will map a new course – one in which health is valued as a fundamental good, but is also understood as an engine of a better, stronger economy. Over the next two years it will deliver a new blueprint for health and prosperity in the UK.

To find out more about the commission, attend the launch event on April 28th. It will feature a range of speakers and share insights from a launch report, which analyses the UK health context and establishes what health can offer to the UK’s economic recovery and aspirations for levelling up.
