North East Civil Society Policy Leads meeting: Political Change and the North East

Building on our previous discussion about the implications of the May local elections, this session will explore the latest political developments and what they could mean for the region. We'll reflect on developments since the elections, including the Labour leadership contest and what Andy Burnham's election as Labour leader could mean for the North East and regional policy. As Parliament approaches the summer recess, we'll also consider emerging policy priorities and opportunities for influencing government ahead of the break.
We’ll explore:
- Reflections on the May local elections and any emerging developments
- The Labour leadership contest and potential implications for the North East
- Key priorities and opportunities for civil society ahead of the Government's summer recess
There will be plenty of time for open discussion, enabling participants to share intelligence, discuss emerging policy issues, and identify areas of common interest across the region.
Please note that this event is open to all civil society policy leads in the North East.
