Regional Health and Well-being Strategy
The region's first ever health and well-being strategy aims to make people living here the healthiest in the country within a generation. Alongside proposals for additional work through the NHS in the first edition of Better Health, Fairer Health are calls for action across a range of areas beyond its scope.
You can download the strategy from the Government Office for the North East website:

Regional Advisory Groups
The Regional Advisory Groups take forward the ten key issues and themes identified in the strategy. Each Regional Advisory Group has a chair (independent of Public Health/Strategic Health) and a theme lead (a senior member of Public Health North East). The theme lead will work closely with the chair and will support and coordinate the work of the advisory group. Theme leads will project manage the overall direction of the group, provide expert advice and ensure high-level stakeholder involvement.
There are voluntary and community sector representatives on many of the groups (details below). Members are welcome to contact representatives directly via email to raise any issues, or find out more about the group's work.
