Sport

Sport and active recreation can not only improve people’s health and well-being but can help to tackle issues around social exclusion and community cohesion.  Sports clubs and trusts make up a significant part of the voluntary and community sector (VCS) and many other community organisations include sport and active recreation opportunities as part of their work.  So VONNE is currently working on developing capacity in the VCS to help sports groups get better access to VCS services and help more voluntary and community organisations to develop sports projects and programmes.  For more information on the VCS sport agenda contact Jo Whaley, Policy and Development Officer, jo.whaley@vonne.org.uk.
